This five-day workshop will explore the theory and practice of colour in oil. We will examine the characteristics of colour definitions, colour matching, as well as colour harmony and balance. Participants will learn the fundamentals of these perspectives by exploring some of the colour models that exist; the Munsell system. We will also examine ‘how to observe reality (nature)’ to make our own judgements without having to resort to a specific theoretical colour model. Additionally, we will do some practical exercises using the theories of Joseph Albers ‘colour interaction’.
