In this workshop, students will study master drawings and paintings as well as real-life photos to learn one-point, two-point, and three-point perspectives. This will provide a framework to logically depict the three-dimensional world onto a two-dimensional surface.

The art of perspective has been used by various masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, J.M.W. Turner, and Gustave Caillebotte. In this workshop, students will study master drawings and paintings as well as real-life photos to learn one-point, two-point, and three-point perspectives.
Learning the art of perspective will provide a framework that allows students to logically depict the three-dimensional world onto a two-dimensional surface.
Assignments will be given at the end of each lecture every week which will be critiqued by the instructor the following class.
This 4-week virtual workshop will convene through Zoom video conferencing on Saturdays from 1-3 pm ET.

Materials
Drawing Instruments
- Graphite – 2B, HB, and 2H. Brand – Staedtler
Paper
- Pad of tracing paper, 9×12 inches
- Pad of cartridge or bond paper, 18X24 inches
- 1-2 sheets of Stonehenge paper in Pearl Grey
Tools
- Carbon or charcoal pencils with Fabriano FA5 or Artistico paper
Tools
- 18″X24″ drawing board
- Ruler, 12 inches or longer
- Sanding block
- Knitting needle 2.5 to 3.5 mm thickness
- Masking tape
- Eraser – one white, one kneadable
- Pencil extender
- Mahl stick (a ½ inch diameter dowel approximately 30 inches
